Author Topic: so how did your guys' exams go? (if you've taken them)  (Read 1797 times)

i got the results back on my band exam, and it was a 75%, bumped my grade down from an a to a c.

i know he's not, but he personally tells you he's disappointed that you can't overcome it. he says that "every musician has it but they can overcome it."
being the organist for a church is the reason i'm not anxious in front of people anymore lol. you can't play with shaky, sweaty hands, so you have to get over it and ignore the fact that there are people. they aren't going to stop the service like "aww she's nervous lets cut her some slack :))" they expect you to perform well and perform consistently.

that kind of mentality sets me into a panic attack, which is precisely what happened when i played in the exam. i have a huge fear of authority and failure and i don't think that mixed well.

4.0 is a maximum for an unweighted grade. If you take honors or AP classes, the value for an A is 5 instead of 4 when you add up all the values and divide by how many classes you have (weighted)
except for schools that still use a unweighted grade even if you do take aps, like mine.

so far I had my spanish final and that stuff was piss easy

They went great. Tests are so much easier than the work that leads up to them.

i have the same thing (it's partly from a traumatic experience in 4th grade but mostly from my parents; i break into tears involuntarily if i try to say anything negative to an adult and i was super upset when i only got a 29 on the ACT bc my parents expect better etc etc) but you still have to get over anxiety. not everyone is going to coddle you when you have an anxiety or panic attack (i know my parents won't) so you have to get past it asap.

I thought 4.0 was the maximum? Unless you have a weight GPA I guess, what are your grades?
I really got straight A's (ish) freshman year with 4 honors classes, and I'm number 6 in my class with a 4.3510.

i'm tied for first with a dude i'm chill with. really at any time i could be like "forget you" and stop helping him w/ stuff and i'd have a pretty secure place in 1st but we agreed to be co-valedictorian so his mom won't flip her stuff at him if i'm better than him.

I suddenly looked at my grades and figured out I have a 4.7 o_O
this will greatly change once you're done with your first year of hs lol.
