Author Topic: Server Wont Work  (Read 1212 times)

Well i was on my server and no one even joined so i asked ray on steam to join and he said it was dead PLS HELP

Things i tried to do:

Port forward (no use)

Turn off browser and back on again (have not tried it yet)

Tried to disable/delete some add-ons (no use)

Oh yeah and you might need the console:

Use Port Forwarding and use Part 3 of Badspot's guide to set a static IP for yourself. Make sure you are forwarding ports to that IP.

Wait aren't you the guy who had a server and it was full of fail installing. Add-ons/add-ons/add-ons? If so you should never host ever again.

Packer i fixed it >_<
download the console and see.

YOU EXTRACT TO MAIN BLOCKLAND FOLDER!

IF JUST A CS FILE JUST PUT IN ADD-ONS!

 :cookieMonster:

Sry for double post :P
But i tried everything and nothings worked!
Arghh my life's ruined, ahhhh i failed.

Aww well might as well play blockland on other servers -_-

port forwarding:
1. find your computers static ip by typing ipconfig in command prompt

2. in the admin page find the port forwarding section

3. make a new rule and with TCP and UDP make the incomeing ports any the outgoing ports a range of 28000 to 28030

4. where it says Network / Computer device type in your static ip

Note: do not by all means mess with anything else or you will turn your internet access off

Note II: the wording from steps 2-4 may be diffrent

Good sir, port fowarding plus turning off your firewall/allowing Blockland through it is ALL that's required. Lettme make sure you know what you're doing.

1) What's your computer's current LAN IP?
2) What ports are forwarded to what IP?
3) Do you have a firewall or an antivirus of sorts?

If you can answer these, then you may have a valid point with it not working.

Anti virus = No
Windows Firewall = YES
-----------------------------
Port forward IP: 192.168.0.1
On blockland IP: 28000
I use router.
Lan IP: Dunno due to i don't have access LOL.
-----------------------------
NOTE: I use netgear router!

Turn Windows Failwall off.

Omg but...B...B..BUT that will let viruses in >.>

ok then you should have another fire wall like norton or free fire walls and stuff liek that

Anti virus = No
Windows Firewall = YES
Turn off Windows Firewall, or allow ports 28000-28050 to go through.

Uh, there's your problem. You need to forward ports to your LAN IP. You're using Windows, so, do this: Start, Run, type in 'cmd' and press OK, and in the screen that comes up, type in 'ipconfig' (note, remove the 's on both of these), and your LAN IP should be on it. You foward ports to this LAN IP. Not your router's IP.

Yeah. Forward your ports to your LAN IP, and you should be fine. Also, allow those ports through Windows Firewall/disable Windows Firewall. Good luck.

Also, lettme tell you this. Windows Firewall being turned off will NOT let viruses in. 99.9% of viruses, and that's a conservative estimate, are given mostly through people downloading bad files. Basically, odds are you're gonna be the one to infect your computer, and Windows Firewall wouldn't protect you from a downloaded file. All a Firewall usually is helpful towards is attacks that are aimed at you, or if you need to block specific IPs. I've only had one attack directed towards my IP in my 8 years with this ISPP, and I knew it was coming (since the moron was bragging about it, etc). My router successfully ignored the packets- their ports weren't forwarded anyway. The bloke who attacked me was a script kiddie, I'm glad to say that after a call to his ISP, I never saw him again.

But, that's besides the point. Turning Windows Firewall off only TECHNICALLY increases your risk of getting a virus, by only 0.1% at best. So, you should be safe. If you still don't believe me, then turn it back on when you're finished with Blockland.
