Author Topic: "BFG" - British Fairytale being made into a movie  (Read 999 times)

I'm pretty sure a few of you watched the old film or read the book when you were in elementary school

Story:

>girl kidnapped by "big friendly giant"
>helps defeat the giant flesh-eating giants
>goes home

Here's a link to the trailer:

Then there's the classic movie based off the book (the orphan girl sounds like she's getting raped when she talks):

What's your opinion on this?

what is it with disney and making books or already existing movies into edgy life action remakes recently

the big loving groin-ferret

Holy stuff I remember my teacher read this to our class back in like 3'rd grade...

yes

also apparently the Queen of England is supposed to make a cameo during the movie

this is going to be great

I read the book.

It was good.

I remember reading the book in 2nd grade. I'm hyped for this movie.

The old cartoon movie really scared me as a child. Not even the monsterous giants, but just the general design of the giants, including the BFG.

I know that the BFG is basically just an old man with big ears, but he still creeped me out. I think it was the general art style.

I can't find anything about Queen Elizabeth herself making a cameo in the film.
Penelope Wilton will be playing the Queen in the new film though.
