Everytime I go to Wikia.com my laptop crashes, advice?

I'm using a 2016 ASUS laptop, when I go to Wikia.com I crash after about 10 secondsThis didn't happen on my 2008 Mac Computer and I could freely browse the Wikia without crashing

wikia seems really bloated and/or poorly optimized and always slows down my browser no matter what computer i use. i'd recommend installing adblock and noscript plugins for firefox. that's really made the website usable for me.

Wikia is just a mess that hates browsers.
Which is a shame, as there are a lot of game-based wikias that I would like access to on my Xbox. I could just pause my game, open the wikia, and find my answer without having to grab my laptop or tablet. But if I don't get the answer in 1-2 minutes then wikia will crash Microsoft Edge.

Wikia is trash, but it's free, so most fan wikis unfortunately end up on it.

Maybe try running with a more powerful browser?
