Author Topic: Allepo Encirclement - EU attempting to halt Syrian Forces' assault on Rebels  (Read 594 times)

if anyone really cares

Assad's forces are now nearly finished circling Syrian rebel forces (in this case, the Kurds & YPG) in Eastern(?) Aleppo, which, before the war, was Syria's largest city. However, now the EU, France, and UK are trying to have him halt his advance/end his forces' siege, the EU for something along the lines of humanitarian reasons.

Russia and Syria are launching a large-scale humanitarian operation for Aleppo residents, Russia's Defense Ministry said. Corridors for civilians and militants ready to lay down arms will be created to exit the city, which was Syria’s largest before the war.

According to the minister, the fourth corridor for the passage of fighters in Aleppo is being set up only because the US has not provided Russia with data on the al-Nusra Front terrorist group, which has recently been attempting to merge with other armed opposition groups in Syria.

indeed

like the OP says, aleppo is the largest city of syria. should the encirclement be succeeded, all supplies to the rebels inside of the city will be cut off

the EU, UK, and france, who iirc actually spent a pretty good amount of money in supplying these rebels, are trying to get assad (supported by russia & of course his army) to cease his offense/siege of the rebel forces

also the link to what i'm using is in the OP, the liveuamap. i used it for the turkey coup thread, as well, and it's pretty reliable

EU stop acting like world police, that's USA's job
