The ideas behind socialism are sound, on paper. However, it tends not to work as well in practice.
That's the point, socialism never really worked as well as it looked on paper.
I believe Zealot is referring to laissez-faire capitalism, in which the government plays no part in the economy.
That's giving him too much credit for such a ridiculous statement. I don't think Laissez-faire can be considered as "Anarchism in it's purest form", and there is a huge margin of difference between Laissez-faire and our current model of capitalism in the US
