An individual player's gravity cannot be changed unless you create a new datablock with some handicapped mass and drag settings but even then you couldn't have negative gravity.

It seems to me like you're trying to treat the player as a particle, which you can't do. Give up now, all hope is lost!

Not really... just use a trigger and place it using mission editor.
