In terms of sounding pretty, probably
Long Lost Century by The WoodlandsIn terms of raw emotion, I'd say it's very close, but edging out the win for me is
Skinny Love by Bon Iver. Just listening to the emotions in his voice, you know he felt, he hurt, and he lost something that can't quite be fully replaced.
For something that hits close to home, I'd have to say
Casimir Pulaski Day by Sufjan Stevens. I had a dear friend who was terminally ill, and it was absolutely heart-wrenching to see her slowly wither away, until one day she was just gone. We knew it would happen, but reality didn't really kick in for a few weeks after the fact.
I really wanted to see some beautiful music and y'all are trying to meme.
