Author Topic: Haiti Relief Help  (Read 1129 times)

There is probably a few donation funds going on for Haiti this day and age, but there is one on GoFundMe that has raised quite a bit as is. Donating is tax free because it's a verified charity.

Please if you even have a dollar, two dollars. Just a dollar even would make a difference! Haiti's crops, homes, structures designed to help them economically have been battered from hell n back. Don't feel responsible for not donating, but remember there is no scam here.. it isn't like 10 dollars is nothing for them. It can be everything for a family. Just please I wanna insist on you helping towards Haiti's misfortune. And remember nobody's outside reflects there inside, they are still a person.

"Haiti missfortune". Those starfishs are always sucking on charity teets. Our soldiers in Haiti are drinking bleach and bullet-proof vest-less. Rep. Dominicana is on the same island and they're fine. The hurricane hit Miami and Bahamas and they're not devastated. What the forget are they doing with the charity money? It's a black hole.

It's almost like developed places are less susceptible to natural disasters.

I mean when you're one of the poorest countries on this side of the world and you get battered by natural disasters every other year there's not really a whole lot you can do.

I can't believe you would post that. It's going to help people that are suffering way worse than you anyway. How about you just keep stuff to yourself before you try to stuff on real things that real people have to put up with.

Yes I am aware. Obviously they aren't nearly as dire as Haiti's condition is currently.

considering haiti gets shat on by a massive ass every several years i would think they need more help, plus the fact that they're not quite as developed as the bahamas, or cuba

Natural disasters affect underdeveloped countries way harder than they do developed ones.

Look guys; I am seriously not trying to get anyone to feel anything at all. I am looking at this logically, people are suffering in Haiti right now very badly. Our currency to them is like gold practically. Yeah we helped them before, but the damage that has happened forgeted that all up. Just giving up on a country that is in there condition isn't right. Don't take this post in a negative way. I really couldn't care if somehow I get a negative bite at the end.

EDIT: Forgot to cover my thoughts on how they are always getting misfortune, why on Earth would that not give us anymore reason to donate? Would you not want help from wealthy countries that sit on there ass all day, when now your whole community's destroyed. And you're starving, i'm sure flooding and the major damage that had impacted them goes beyond what sort of tragedies we can comprehend on top of what has happened in the past, present, or even future.

cuba is a developed country alright but pretty isolated

Florida ur right tho

jamaica dodged it

maybe haiti should learn how to dodge

I definitely agree. Sorry I have to savor some content for a bump, I think this deserves at least one bump for Off Topic like this. Cuba I am not trying to say not to think about, or Florida. I have family where it hit in north-east Florida, but I can't understand any of the trouble they are going through. Some things I have seen near the coast before probably destroyed at least partially, like the pier I had seen/been on. (Jax Beach) and other regions that had heavy flooding and/or damage. Trees that toppled left and right happened as well, very tragic that there has been reports of a couple deaths caused by trees/debris in Florida. Currently Mathew for the USA has caused 9 deaths I believe, not horrible it seems because it doesn't seem like a lot of deaths. Still people's lives. Still bad for the damages, big majority from power outage definitely! Last heard 2 million without power in the USA. Flooding is happening in South Carolina, Florida and other states are gonna still see tragedy in some way. https://weather.com/news/news/hurricane-matthew-south-carolina-update

Remember to think about Haiti feels though, Florida and beyond was like category 2. Maybe 3 at worse in some areas, one of the factors that I think wasn't good was the saturation before hand from storms. Haiti I haven't had much information on wind speed, but the death toll was 800+ in Haiti along with the major tragedies I mentioned earlier.

Haitians are black why should I care about them?

hmmm maybe it's because they're the least developed country in North America and hasn't recovered from the 2010 earthquake?
