Author Topic: Is there any way to play with a very slow internet connection or offline?  (Read 1001 times)

Our internet service is temporarily cut, and so I was using a mobile hotspot just to open the game, because it seems the launcher needs a connection to open, and I tried every possible launcher bypass before I resorted to using my data.

Well, after a few days, I used up all my hotspot data, and now it has been slowed down. I can still use messengers and visit sites but downloading anything or watching videos isn't very plausible, and apparently the launcher can't open with this slow ass connection either.

So, I'm just wondering if there's any way to open Blockland when offline

You can play offline just fine. I don't see why the launcher shouldn't open. What is this to require internet connection, Need For Speed: Underground?

Bad joke aside, the game runs without caring about an internet connection. You'll just be restricted from joining or starting any multiplayer servers if you are offline. Maybe there is a bug unrelated to the launcher?

From personal experience I have had difficulty starting up blockland when I have no connection, launcher would often take 10-15 minutes to respond. It might be it taking a crazy amount of time to start. Although, there's really no reason why launcher should not start with no connection as Marios said.

i tried disconnecting from my internet and i was able to fire up both regular and steam version just fine, dunno what you guys are having problems with

I would post a picture of the error, but it would be very inconvenient at the moment due to my slow ass internet problem, but i can state what it says

"Failed to download Blockland files (error 56)

Please verify your internet connection and try again"

It happens regardless if I'm connected to my very slow hotspot, disconnected from all connections or in airplane mode

Prior to that, I was getting the no URL in game manifest error, which fixed itself once i got on the hotspot

So apparently it was something wrong with the latestManifest.dat file, and when I learned that, I deleted it then got the failed to download error again so I had my fiance send me his to put in place of it instead of reinstalling blockland and it actually worked, it works offline and on the slow hotspot but thank you anyways guys
