Author Topic: Emicida is the most underrated rapper ever  (Read 593 times)

As some of you know, I am a very hardcore rap-hip hop fan and I listen to tunes that no one has ever heard of. Not trying to show off or say "Ha! you were born in the wrong generation" no not that. Recentley, as I love the Portuguese language and I like the theme of Sao Paulo, even though it's a dangerous place sometimes, I think Brazilian MC Emicida should be known everywhere. There are some songs that people are missing out, I'll list a few here:

Emicida - Velhos amigos
Emicida - Eu gosto dela
Emicida - Levanta e Anda
Emicida & Féfé - Bonjour

Those are just a few but his albums "Emicidio" and "Pra Quem Já Mordeu um Cachorro por Comida Até Que Eu Cheguei Longe" are master peices and if you love rap you should really give them a listen even if it isn't English, I still love his music

liar i havent even sseen yu in the hiphop thread!!!!
also i dont understand the lyrics so it doesnt have much meaning to me
a big part of hiphop to me is the lyrics, the other part is the beats

well you see those weeaboos? they listen to J pop and most of them don't understand the lyrics but they'll still like the song. Lyrics are a big part to me as well, songs like "Keshia's song" by Kendrick Lamar and "4 your eyez only" by J cole have the best lyrics I've seen

i gotta agree with donnies, like i dont think hes bad or anything but rap is the most lyrical genre out there and if you cant understand the language its kinda hard to vibe with it. if its a banger, then its a banger in any language because everyone will understand the beat. but this dudes beats are p basic and it seems like his appeal is mostly out of his lyrical talent

do you maybe have some good verses translated?

Unfortuanetley, no. If Felipie or someone else who speaks Portuguese passes by this thread, maybe they will translate it. I'm learning Portuguese right now but I only know very basic words

some of these beats go hard though
