I need some Good emulators

So I'm the kind of guy who loves playing old games on my PC but I'm paranoid and I think every emulator out there is a virus

so I'd like to know some emulators for any consoles that's like, not supported anymore and don't have their games on their respected stores, I'm respectful like that

So technically DOS games, maybe a few gameboy games that I own and other consoles that don't have their games supported.

So any good emulators and places to get those emulated games?

Yeah but I was stupid enough to download one and I had to refresh my computer's hardrive back so I'm very paranoid, a recommendation for good ones would be nice because some are better than others, like one might have customizable controls and such
