First of all its called an avatar and here is how you do it:

First get a pic. Make it I beleive 75x75 (somone correct me on that if I am wrong). Save it. GO into your profile. Then say you will upload your own image. Browse and find the one youy want then boom ya got it.

What more do you need. Go in profile. Then click on profile info (or something like that). THen at the top you should see stuff about uploading the pic.
