Valve is working on a modified version of Wine, Proton, that is a compatibility layer capable of running Windows applications on
GNU/
Linux distros.
For these with DOOM, S.T.A.L.K.E.R, Nier Automata, DDLC etc. you can now play them in linux as they will be enabling more titles in the near future.
Proton is fully open-source and anyone can fork it
What do you think of this, that the main complaints about linux was lack of vidya? that now a big ass company is backing them up?

Pretty awesome that they've integrated that directly into the steam client. My only gripe about this is why couldn't they have just contributed these improvements directly to the wine project and then used the resulting improved wine version?
