Author Topic: Sticky topic in Help/Add-Ons - "Make A Console Log"  (Read 1129 times)

I think a topic in the Add-Ons and Help forums with a message similar to what I have written below would be helpful to people having trouble with Add-Ons and to people trying to help them - I've found it very difficult to help some people with problems generally saying "it doesnt work!!" and giving no explanation or details.

►►►Make A Console Log

If you are having trouble with an Add-On or part of the game after installing an Add-On, provide the console.log file in your post.
  • Close and restart the game.
  • Start a Single Player server and try to reproduce the error in whatever way you caused it.
  • Quit the game by using the Quit button in the Escape menu.
  • Go to C:/Program Files/Blockland or wherever you installed the game, using your file browser.
  • Find the console.log file in this folder.
  • Post in the Help board if the problem is with the game or in the topic of the Add-On you have if there is a problem with that.
  • Make sure you explain the problem in detail and say what you were doing at the time. Try to make your post properly readable and use correct spelling and punctuation.
  • Using the Attach menu (under Additional Options in the post), attach the console.log file you found earlier.
A console log gives people helping you information about the problem you encountered, and can help them solve it quicker.

Do you think this would be a good idea to have, or have any suggestions for it?

EDIT:
lol zoneark, we accidentally posted on the same second thats why im second, had to repost again becuase it says sum kind of error about the one u posted LULZ..

Realistically I don't think anyone would actually read this, judging by how many port forwarding threads we have.

Well, it would be nice to have a guide I can direct people to instead of writing out the instructions over and over for everyone who has a problem.

True, but every handicap prefers some one tell them and spoon feed them every single step because they can't be brothered to read the instructions or just fail at life.

Life doesn't come with a user's manual anymore because no one bothered to read it. Hence all the morons.
