how to stop people from building

Hey, I need help. (obviously, otherwise I wouldn't have posted here). I just started hosting and I need to know how to turn off building for people who come to my server. Automatically, they seem to be able to build. Sorry if the answer is blatantly obvious, and  :cookie:s to whoever answers me!
