Probably your nose is bloody causing the drink to  become reddish brown when you spit it out.

It's a buildup of all the cancer soda has accumulated in your throat and is coming back to haunt you. Much like tar is usually coughed back up from people who smoke. Only they're handicaps and don't see this as a problem related to their smoking.
