Author Topic: Online server problems  (Read 1514 times)

First let me say I have trawled the forums and I have tried port forwarding and I have tried every imaginable thing to make this work but it does'nt.

My problem is I can't host an online server, everytime I try to it turns out the server is dead when I check it on my brothers computer. I am on a laptop and I don't know if that makes a diffrence.

Please help.

Same thing happened to me except that I used to be able to host and one day it just died.

thats what i had i was able to host a game until my brother bought the game and stared doing his servers

i use a laptop to I think we may not be able to host servers from a wireless connection

Read the stickies on Port Forwarding.

I do believe this is the problem.
You can only forward a port/ports to one computer per router.
If your brother's computer has the ports forwarded to it, then your computer will no longer be forwarded.

Solution: Use only one computer on your network to host blockland games.

so shouldn't it work if i'm using a diffrent port? and if he's not hosting it should work to but it doesnt!

you dont see the point of kirbys post

computer A(your bro) has the forwarded ports, and even when hes not psoting, he only has the ability to host

computer B(yours) does NOT have the ports forwarded, and will not be able to host until you steal the forwarded ports from your bro.
