Author Topic: Screen/Game resolution request  (Read 952 times)

My LCD screen supports the maximum resolution of 1280x1024. My goal was to play Blockland at a resolution of 1280x720 while keeping the game from getting stretched by the Y coord.
In other words, I want to play Blockland on 1280x720 while on a screen resolution of 1280x1024. I'd like to hear of any possibilities to achieve this.

Shame I have to bump.  :panda:

This depends entirely on your video driver.

If you have nvidia hardware, you can go to the nvidia control panel and under display->change flat panel scaling, select "Use NVIDIA scaling with fixed-aspect ratio" and it will do exactly what you want.

I don't know about ATi or intel hardware.

I've searched around the web, and it seems that option isn't available, because my monitor is connected through a VGA cable.
Therefore, I went back searching for a way to do it on my LG L1750G monitor. The manual told me nothing. The FAQs were also useless. I'm afraid this isn't going to be easy.

Why don't you just get a DVI cable?

A DVI cable should not be necessary. VGA supports up to 1900x1200 I believe. Most certainly driver problems.

So your monitor supports 1280x1024 but you want to play at 1280x720? Have you tried turning off full screen mode? The games shouldn't be stretched if you play in windowed mode.

EDIT: Here...I did a test. Works fine in windowed mode....no stretching.
