Author Topic: A Request  (Read 1220 times)

I was wondering if anyone with proper modding knowledge would be so kind as to make 3 new particle effects.  Being a newb I don't know how to go about doing this myself, but I know it's possible.

Laser R - a red laser emitter
Laser G - a green laser emitter
Laser B - a blue laser emitter

I have a map that uses the laser particle effects in the doorways of all the buildings, all of the emitter bricks are gray and it would ruin the appearance of the buildings to change them to red.  I'd appreciate if someone could set these up and make them avalible for download.  Since they are the three primary colors of light these lasers would actually be useful for those people who don't want to sacrifice looks for functionality.

Thanks in advance!

First off you made a stupid topic name in the wrong place,
secondly try making laserA and then changing the brick's color -___-;

As plainly stated above I cannot change the color of the bricks without ruining the look of the buildings, and since I don't fancy the idea of having a plethora of all red buildings littering my map I'm asking for someone more knowledgeable than me to help out a little. Judging by the ignorace of your post I don't think you're the type of person I'm looking for.

Anyone else willing to help?

Have you tried building a red laser plate inside of the doorway and then turn off raycasting, collision, and rendering?

I just tried that, but when I try to put a gray brick over it it gives me the overlapping error message.  Thanks for the tip, but it looks like I'll have to keep fishing around for someone who can mod it.

:P Well turn Rendering off for a clear brick!

Its actually quite a cool effect to stack 5 red de-rendered 1x4 bricks in the doorway. It gives a slightly broken laser beam which looks much cooler than a steady one.

Its just not a good idea for your build to rely on special add-ons otherwise anyone who wants to use the map also has to go to the trouble of finding the correct add-on to download.
