Dedicated server wuestions.

Okay, just lately I've had a friend asking me to host a cityRP server. So, turns out only works on Dedis. stuff. I start a dedi, everything works fine, he can join fine, but I can't. I just lag horribly. Is this because I'm connecting to the dedi with the same computer I'm trying to join from or something else?


Also, just for fun, how do I talk through console?

When I use spaces or punctuation while talking, it gets a syntax error. Normal?
