What do i name a texture on a model so it can be colored?

I'm trying to make my own JVS door pack but i need to know what to name my textures so i can paint the door. Does anyone know? Or, if i could get a JVS door in milkshape that would be great.

I thought it was: "whiteCheck.png"?
