Author Topic: Internet lag fix  (Read 1012 times)

Alright well i have a Linksys Wireless -G Broadband Router, and let me say that it is absolute stuff.
every other aspect of my computer is perfectly fine, i can play installed games and run internet-free programs without a problem at all. but once i go onto the internet it goes downhill, aim and other messengers randomly sign off, it takes terribly long to load even the simplest of internet pages, and i have to reset (unplug and replug) my router multiple times a day.
so now i ask you, is there a simple fix to this issue that i do not know of? or will i have to buy a new router altogether?
and if i do need a new router, care to make any suggestions? i have four computers, two desktops and two laptops (pc and mac desktops, dell and mac laptops)

Are you uploading and/or downloading anything on any of the computers?
Has this been happening only after you installed the router?
Did you try connecting the internet (lacking a better word) directly to your computer? (not through the router)

did you try contacting your internet service? or the router creaters?

Are you uploading and/or downloading anything on any of the computers?only blockland and approved files.
Has this been happening only after you installed the router? its been happening since christmas, which is when we got my sister's macbook pro
Did you try connecting the internet (lacking a better word) directly to your computer? well its actually connected to the computer im currently using, everything else is connected through wireless though.(not through the router)

did you try contacting your internet service? or the router creaters?
no not yet, i need to contact Cox and the Linksys people.

I got a Wireless Linksys WRT45G and it works like a charm. I got 3 computers and a PS3 hooked into it, and then wireless from PSP, Ipod and the Wii.
Also what do you mean by approved files? Make sure you aren't uploading anything any computer. You may have some bittorrenting client open that's uploading and you don't know about it.
