Halo 2 - The XP Problem.

Hello anyone.

Since I bought Halo 2 three (I think so) years ago I never really came to play it because I sadly don't have Vista. Now I'm having that game lying around somewhere and wondered if actualy someone maybe know more about how I am able to play on XP.
I know there is this one hack going around that makes it able for someone to play it.

I do not see this as a hack as you have bought a game and are seeking to play it due to uncompilable OS's. In no way would you be stealing the game, but just trying to play it.

So far I know I would still need a crack for it to make it playable and that is kind of illegal in the way it could be seen as.

Then in that seance finding a PS/2 > USB port  adapter for my wireless mouse is hacky and illegal too. I blame Microsoft for trying to force the Vista transfer on us too early and having halo2 and 3 on Vista. Really, they could have had a better sale of the games if they made it xp AND vista. Maybe with a few perks to having vista while playing it.

I have had the same experience, and was able to get it fully working through a .bat file that is hard to get, unfortunately I don't think I have it.


Be aware, if you play Halo 2 on XP, there is a problem with the Gravemind level that renders it unplayable, it's because of something with being Vista or whatnot, but there is a fix for that too.

Yeah, you may want to remove that. It's asking you to download the torrent for Halo 2.

I can't even install it.
I want to launch the installer (Startup.exe) and the first thing I get is: "The procedure entry point CreatProcessWithTokenW could not be located in the dynamic link library ADVAPI32.dll"
