Paint.net transparency help

I tried to make some stuff transparent, but it turns black in my avatar...

Keep your avatar less than 75x75 pixels, other the forum automatically resizes images to that, but the method used removes transparency and animation.

Make sure you're saving as a .png

yep, and to be sure you could always magic wand whatever you need and create a new image and paste it.

Then save.
