To put it simply, don't be a kissass and don't get on people's bad sides. As of right now, you being as nice as you are, probably won't. Also--You should really forward your ports as soon as possible. You should also read all of the stickies on the Forum Subsections. Not to mention, you should also get RTB, as most of the "nicer" people have it. I'm sure Ephialtes, or maybe even Kaje (with a lot o' luck) would give you some tips. One huge thing you should know, is if you're going to make Add-Ons (tools/items/weapons/etc, in game for extra "fun") you should start out simple--Decals or faces.. But try MS3D, (Milk Shape 3D) A program for modeling. There are a lot of tutorials on making add-ons on the RTB forums--I find them simpler and easier to understand, and they've helped me greatly in modeling.

Hmm, these forums have been ravaged with horrendous research, extreme language, explicit content, furry stuff, full of elitists, mega flaming, and extreme spammage/raids. This is one of the most forgeted up forums that I have ever been to. All in all, I always seem to still have an extreme amount of fun here! Also, when you join in on the online servers. Don't "Steal" Any builds. This means don't go on a server, save everyhting there, and then claim you built it. Another thing, don't start a clan right away if you want one. Most new people right away make a clan about zombies. It gets very annouying. Last but not least, hi.
