Author Topic: Increasing fan speed in laptop - Good idea?  (Read 2440 times)

Get a cooling plate for it, that's what I did and I haven't had to deal with any overheating ever since.

I might try that too. If I were to play HL2, and have the laptop in direct contact with my skin, my lap would get singed.

My advice throw it out the window and go buy a new one

If you wipe your ass with money.

If I had the funds to buy a new computer/laptop, this thread would not be here.

I can wipe my ass with money  :cookieMonster:
But I don't want to. It's not soft enough :3
In your opinion, would buying a Clocky (TM) mobilized alarm clock for every member of my family be a good investment? :o

Haha, just kidding.
But uh, my old computer kept shutting off due to overheat because the old fan was too small. Apparently, since my cousin gave it to us (it used to be his) his fan had busted and he rigged it up to work with an older Windows's fan. So, we just took the fan out of our oldest computer, which, mind you, has a very big fan, and rigged it to work in the XP.
And yeah, no more overheat. Try a larger, more cooling fan.

Ugh, RMtool or whatever isn't letting me control the voltage.

Running out of ideas.

Do you have a fan at all and is your laptop on a desk? You can try elevating it with something, like putting small blocks or whatever's stable and on-hand under the corners to atleast keep some air flowing under it.
