Author Topic: Trouble with cheats, on any game  (Read 1357 times)

I have an HP computer, and it seems that if i try to press the ~ key to get to the cheats menu in any game, nothing happens. I know that I shouldn't be using cheats, but in Oblivion (It's cheat button is ~), I'm stuck in a rock, and can't get out. it would be nice to be able to get out of that rock, but I can't, not without cheats. the only exceptions are games that don't requier you to use the ~ button, like Control+Shift+C. Please help.

BTW, this isn't about Blockland, so it does not belong in the Help section, just thought you might like to know.

Well, you may have to find the option to "Enable developer console" on some.

In source games, you have to actually go to options and enable the ~ console.

In source I mean, Half life 2, Gmod, TF2, Portal, etc.

Can't do any of that, so it still wont work :(

Get a new keyboard...? Or better yet, rebind the command to a different key.

I tried a new key board, and most of the games won't let me key bind the ~ key.

The problem with his computer is that for some strange reason HP disabled the ~ key. Pressing it anywhere yields no result, with different keyboards or even in microsoft word.

He wishes to know how to fix this.

on some games you have to press Ctrl + Alt + `  or Ctrl + alt + ~

Oh. In that case, try hitting your computer. Works for me every time.

Use a game trainer or a ram editor.

In source games you can create an shortcut, right click it open properties and add "-console" after the target to open the console automaticly on start.

In example:

Code: [Select]
C:\Users\Anybody\Desktop\Steam\Steam.exe -applaunch 220 -console
