not really, i say one of the builds your proud of take pic of it and make it your avatar like i did

take all of your pics, make them very small, make a picture with that.

Make it a high quality. The one thing I hate most is some avatar in jpeg with a lot of blurriness to the point that I give up on trying to see what it is.
