Select the part you want to make transparent with a selection tool and press the delete key.

With the Magic Wand, click the color you want to trim, then press delete. But if it gets more than what you want it to delete, turn down the Tolerance.

pretty sure copying it and pastin it is the only way :/

and if you dont like em', dont download them? I just thought a little railroad sign might be usefull....
