The whole thing with touching babies and the mother not coming back is a myth. If something were to happen to a nest, you are better off touching them and helping them. I'm pretty sure that it was made up by moms who didn't want their children to get bird flu.

Well if I was a natural foodsource for the bird it would be good, also when people intervine with nature it is usually not for the better.
