can anyone help me with my FinePix camera?

im trying to figure out how to turn a FinePix camera on...i hit the power button but it turns on then turns off...if you need any info i will find it and tell you...

i put new batteries in it as soon as i brought it home...i mean the power switch is kinda weird...when you flick it on it powers up and flicks back...but its supposed to play on...when i flick mine on it powers up and shuts off...

Manual, and sounds like a cheap camera to me, but then again, my camera is a Nikon Coolpix.  I like it.  8 Megapixel, or 10, I forget.
EDIT: 10, and apparently the smallest 10 megapixel camera.
