Author Topic: Server hosting tips. anyone have any?  (Read 746 times)

Well I've hosted a few servers here and there... and I was wondering, what makes someone a good host/admin?

Not being an admin abuser, and.. well... Being a nice host i guess?

A good server, to me, is any server that you could hvae fun in.

Checking that your server isn't dead.

Enabling only relevant or useful Add-Ons to a server. Mini-Nukes and whatever various generic machine guns you have usually are not useful in a pirate RPG server, unless you want to utterly break it.

Having a definitive theme, ruleset or original mod in the server. (e.g. if you're hosting an RPG then make your own RPG mod as it'll be guaranteed be much better and original than CityRP or the various event/Variables-based ones)

People come to my server all the time. It usually has 0-50 bricks :I

People find me a nice host for this reason - my welcome message has something that look's like me talking and says : Anyone can help build with my *whatever I'm building.*
