Author Topic: Rating Customizable Video Games  (Read 1467 times)

I stopped reading after the third post. This is a loving handicapped idea coming from a kid who is butthurt because his parents wont let him get gta4. If this were to happen, than kids would be more forgeted than possible. Think of it this way. As a boy, you're born with the lust for; dirt, machines and aimlessly punching and breaking stuff. Now, if you're 5 years old and playing dora the explora and dora's monkey wont shut up, and, the kid could just go apestuff and rip the monkeys spine out. They created the rating system for a reason, to keep the minds of kids a little less twisted and to ensure that a 10 year old isn't walking out of game stop with a fat pile of games chock-full of; love, blood and liquor abuse.

Tl;dr:

No, it would forget up kids more and more than they already are.

Also, if something wasn't clear in my post, just quote me, and i'll explain what you need.

Let me say some things in a DIFFERENT way.
I know there are some games that turn blood on and off but I mean taking that to the extreme. Choosing exactly how much of anything you want in a game. Not turning something completely on or off. And parents could of course lock the settings. And of course some kids aren't going to be happy with their parents control but THAT'S THE POINT! It lets kids play the games they aren't allowed to with the approval of their parents. And so what if it doesn't fix everybody's problems, it just makes less of a hassle for people.
And no I'm not some stupid kid. My parents in fact let me play just about every single video game in existence and I have an extensive collection of M rated games.

T As I said, parents have little control these days over what their kids are exposed to. I don't see how they're expected to in most cases.
:o then if that's true, then wouldn't it just not matter to begin with?
Plus if it's in the house they'd already have been exposed to it, so, pshhhhh =P
