Author Topic: Issue with port forwarding....  (Read 1923 times)

I did successfully forward my port some days ago and people were able to come to my server. But then when I came back to play again later...my port seem to have de-forwarded or something..nobody connects and my friend says the server is dead. Can someone help?

if you only turned blockland on once and posted, the server might have disconnected.

If so, turn your computer off and turn it back on and reload blockland, then check.

Actually...that's just it! I turned off my computer and then came back to find out that my port wasn't functioning properly!

interesting... did you try to forwad the ports again?

eh...it does seem that when I tried that....my ip address seem to have changed! and when I tried to go to the site using my ip address...the website couldn't be brought up!

go to the site that everyone can use 192.168.0.1

you know, the basic, non lame-crap-out-of-mouth kinda stuff.

You may find that you can access it again.

eh..ok..I'll try it later.

Well..there is a problem...I got this error!

Connection Interrupted

The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.

The network link was interrupted while negotiating a connection. Please try again.

Wait..I did manage to get on with another ip address...andI found out that I issued DMZplus mode. (If that helps you :/)

did you go in command prompt and type ipconfig?

I need screenshots of key areas for the problems. The area(s) with the errors, and if you have, the successful connection to your router using 192.168.0.1 (or any similar address)

I would say you arent using a static IP address... so every time you restart your computer your IP address has the possibility of changing (depending on network usage). http://portforward.com/networking/static-xp.htm Is how to set up a Static rather than Dynamic IP address.

DMZplus mode is (what I would assume) a De-Militarized Zone setting of some kind which is inbuilt into your router... Just looking up my image to explain DMZs:

Unless your network is set up like that I wouldnt recommend having that setting enabled...

One final thing... Sometimes with routers (like mine) to save a port forward, you must "Save" and then immediately restart your router with the "save and restart" function or something similar.

I hope I can help if you have any further problems.
