Help Colten find out what bird he saw!

Yesterday I was watching TV, and there was a reflection on the TV from outside my sliding glass door. I saw this huge bird standing on someone's balcony. I would guess it was like 3 feet tall, it was brown, had tall legs and a tall neck. If anyone knows a lot about birds maybe they could tell me what kind of bird it was. I almost got a picture but it flew away (Huge wings :O)

It looks a bit like the bird I saw only Im not sure what bird that is or if it's even in NJ
I was wondering if anyone who knows a lot about birds could help me figure out what bird it was I saw

And tons of them live in Maryland and DE so I'm guessing theres tons in NJ too

It's a Heron of some sort, they come down and eat the fish from your ponds and thusly are evil.

Those are normal here in Holland. I know how its called in Dutch but not in english. Lemme search :D

It could have been a Crane.
Or are they white?

Yeah, it's a Grey Heron. Looks almost identical to the Great Blue Herons I see around here.
