I think people are getting confused. The adds with there photos and friends photos are probably auto-generated ones on adds that you allow to pull photos. Everyone just sees there own friends photos.

It's a ploy by those third-party companies to make you assume that all your friends have already gone with the service. It's a kind of "Well all your friends are doing it, why aren't you?" deal.
