The day my brother got his $3500 hunk of overpriced nuclear powered parts, it broke already. The motherboard was sort of broken so it kept turning on when he wanted it off.
Over a year later, he was stupid enough not to buy 2/3 year warranty. One of his graphics chips (Two 9600GTMs) started screwing up and he got BSODs repeatedly. It was out of warranty, so he had to buy the chip himself and replace it...himself. With some douche at alienware to talk him through it. Worse part was it didn't fix it, and he couldn't do anything but pay for repairs. The worse part is our mom threw out the newer chip after it didn't work. Then it just wouldn't boot at all. It would boot, crash, reboot, crash, reboot, crash, etc.
So overall he spent probably around $4000 on it, used it for a year, and bam it died.
