qwerty was made to slow down typing to avoid typewriter jams

Dvorak is for speed and comfort. its much better in almost all regards.

Sorry for bump, but how does it make typing faster?  I think it's just bullstuff, unless it's proven.

EDIT: read Wikipedia on it, and I think it's kinda pointless, unless you REALLY need speed.  I think that it might bee too much work for just maybe 1 more word per minute.
