Author Topic: The upcoming train - is it even possible?  (Read 746 times)

Throughout the summer I'll be giving Pandan a few pictures and he'll be modelling it part by part, perfecting it, and moving on. In a few days I'll give him some front photos.

So, I know they way the new train mod will work will allow it to be driven from the back. The only problem is, it's an engine and a car. How will the engine and the car be able to turn each other? How can this work?

Turning? Aren't you going to be putting this on tracks?

You could make track prop bricks with the needed smooth collision mesh.

Collision meshes can't be smooth enough without throwing performance out the window, and even then vehicles will happily cruise through them.

Turning via the natural A and D

My point is, the engine turns, and it is unknown how the car will turn.

Collision meshes can't be smooth enough without throwing performance out the window, and even then vehicles will happily cruise through them.

Oh shoot.

You'd have to figure out how to transmit wheel-turning information from the engine wheels to the cart wheels, that should be possible right?
