Author Topic: Dead Server?  (Read 810 times)

OK I have no idea what Ive done wrong heres the steps I completed
1. I created a port that looks like this [Blockland] -> [28000] -> [28030] -> [UDP] -> [192.168.*.***]

2. Went to the network sharing and went to the IPv4 It looked like this

IP address [192.168.*.***]

Subnet Mask [255.255.255.0]

Then default gateway -> I got from ipconfig IPv4 Default gateway -> [192.168.*.***]

DNS1: [************]

DNS:2[*************]

I'm confused on why my server shows as dead so some help would be nice so post up.

Where you have [UDP], make it TCP/UDP.

Tryed same problem. Appears on the dead list still.

When you hit Start A game, did you go into advanced options and put ports 28000-28030?

http://portforward.com/.
Follow the instrucksoins on that site.

Bob yes it is hooked up correctly maybe its with security?

And portforward I did.

I'm having the exact same problem as you.

You have to click on Query LAN if you're trying to join your own dedicated server.

My server isnt dedicated. And im not sure if it would be the security options or what but any suggestions just post.

Wait, are you opening another client to see if your server is dead? You won't be able to.

Yes im opening up another blockland to check if the server is dead or not.

It will still show up dead on your client anyway, because it can't be accessed over the Internet when it is on the same network as you.
Go on the RTB IRC and ask someone if it shows up dead for them. If not, you did it correctly.

If Sonicfan's suggestion does not work, check any firewall software to be sure that Blockland's ports are not being blocked.
