Author Topic: My IP address is mixed with my brother's  (Read 1070 times)

I have been minding my own business, posting and doing cool stuff, but recently I've been having IP errors with my brother, Placid, Posting less than 20 seconds before me. I don't even have the same IP, as far as I know. My old laptop has the same IP as him, but my HP laptop (my current laptop) shouldn't have that problem, but I do. I have nothing to do with what's happening. I have not changed my IP address. I don't know about Placid, but RAR it makes me mad.

tl;dr: please help me make it so that I can post independently of my brother's IP address.

sorry for wall of text :(

Wait what?
Your brother is Placid...?

Old news for AoB and CotB Members, but yeah. I'm older :P

You guys live in the same house. If so you guys have the same IP.

Unless you get different internets, both of you will have same ip forever.

Waiting 20 seconds to post is really that big of a issue?

I think your mixing up your private and public Ip's. Your private IP is the IP address which is basically your computer. Your public IP on the other hand is what all the private IP's in your house use to connect to the internet. SO if you and Placid have the same public IP this problem will occur no matter what. It is impossible to have the same private IP though.

You're probably right. I don't remember that speech correctly.
