Author Topic: I need kickass computer parts for Christmas.  (Read 2658 times)

I also want a new graphics card, mine is not too great. I suppose It'd be better if I asked in this topic what I should get rather than making a whole new one.

Well if anyone could find me a good graphics card that won't break my computer and will run well I would be grateful. (Price is not an issue)

I have a Dimension E520 running XP, never modified.
I'd say a 8800-9800 GT or something, or if you have enough space in your case + your power supply can handle it, a GTS 250-260.

I very much doubt his prebuilt computer could support a 250 or 260, power wise. If it does, I'd eat my hat.

I have a 305 watt power supply with a backup 3-V CR2032 lithium coin cell if that means anything. :3

The lithium coin cell battery is for your BIOS, so it keeps all settings 'n' stuff. Look on the side of the power supply, look under a label that says +12V and tell us the number of amps. It'll usually be like:
+12V
-------
 20A

I compare all cards to the best.  In that case, it sucks, as I said.  That doesn't make me an idiot.

Compared to the, say, 7800GT, it's great.  But I didn't compare it to that.

Sorry that I don't compare everything exactly the way you do.  Maybe you could realize that I simply have a differing opin-Oh yeah, we've had this discussion, and it never works out for you.  Never mind.

Haha oh wow. First of all, my disdain at your extreme ignorance isn't just an opinion. It's because science is not a matter of opinion. Secondly, a card that is better than a 9800GT does not suck. Get your head out of your ass.

I have an ATI X1650.

:c

4x GTX295 OC'd.

Uggh, you can't have 4 in SLI, only 2...
A GTX295 is two GPU's on one card, so two GTX295's are actually 4 way SLI.
It's the same with HD5970's, except it's CrossfireX instead of SLI.
Not to mention one HD5970 is almost twice as powerful as one GTX295.

Yes because science is making opinionated comparisons using terms like "suck" and "does not suck".

In your opinion, better than a 9800GT "does not suck".  In my opinion, better than a 9800GT still "sucks".  Please get over yourself.

wat

I was talking about how you say that our opinions differ in terms of some scientific facts, but in reality there is no such thing as opinion when referring to fact.
