Author Topic: Headphones playing only one side.  (Read 1475 times)

I just got new Skullcandy stereo headphones and it only plays on the left side. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Try going into your System Preferences, click on Audio (or Sound, I don't know your OS), and check the sound balance to see if you have the sound coming out of one speaker. I had the same problem for a long time and it turned out to be this.

I hate that, its so anoying.

Either the right speaker is broken and you need to get it fixed/replaced or your balance is offset.

That's what happened to mine, Most likely broken, If you just get them they should be balanced once you plug them in the first time. I just got new ones anyways.

I still say the sound's unbalanced.

This happens to mine. It doesn't really matter, it plays all the sounds that right played on the left anyways. Well at least mine does.

The trs might be damaged.

This happened to me but with airplane ones.

I tried it on my iPod and laptop, and it seems to play on both sides. But not on my PC.

EDIT: I am using Windows XP

Try twisting the connection while it's in the port until you get both R L speakers working.
Sometimes the connection is blocked by grease.
