Should've gone an intermediate step and gotten GIMP. GIMP and Photoshop's interfaces are so similar that if you know GIMP well, the only thing that's different really is the keyboard shortcuts and a few other capabilities. Besides that, Photoshop just does everything GIMP does a lot more powerfully.
