Author Topic: PSU Problem  (Read 459 times)

Hey guys lately when I was playing blockland, mysteriously my pc would shut off. While you may think theres an obvious solution, but it only shuts off with blockland, not tf2, HL2, or Gmod.
My asus protection thing says it was a power supply surge.

,Thanks.

No Modifiy button.
Its a new computer I built, today I check thoroughly for any cause(heatsink fan, psu fan, top fans) but all were working fine. Please help, I don't want to be losing my builds.

Update drivers or get a better graphics card or maybe your missing a requirement.

I updated drivers already and it fixed it. But it has crashed again but only once and that was about after 12 hours of having it on.
PC: Intel E7500@2.93GHz, 4gbs of Patriot 1333MHz ram, 500watt PSU, nVidia GTS 250 256Bit 512MBs.

Did you have blockland on full screen?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't really see how Blockland can cause a surge in the PSU, in fact its highly unlikely.

I don't have an Asus, but on my desktop while playing Blockland, my computer has randomly shut down before with absolutely no warning. Right before shutting down it emits this high-pitched tone for 1-5 seconds then turns off. I never posted about it until now because I didn't think anyone would be able to help/had had the same problem. I have a backup battery plugged into the computer but I don't know if that's causing the problem. The reason I say that is because I had a stuffload of problems with its driver before, but I thought I got it fixed.

It probably is drivers. A problem with the driver could probably cause the graphics to do something screwed up and it might go back to the power supply.

Get new drivers for your GTS 250.

I already had gotten new drivers, my bro told me to. Anyway I will leave this topic up for anyone else who needs help with this.
