Author Topic: Problems setting up a LAN game.  (Read 2239 times)

OK, I'll try to explain my situation as best as I can.

Basically, I'm trying to set up a LAN game with my friends. According to the Blockland FAQ, all I need to play LAN games is my full Blockland copy, so my friends are using Demo versions.
I set up my server, my friends are able to 'see' it and try to join, but they all get kicked out with a "This does not appear to be a LAN game" message. With various testing it appears they're able to connect to my computer - they see me in the LAN, ping me, they're even able to input passwords if I try to lock my server - but they can't join my game no matter what I try.

Could anybody please help me out?

If you're on windows, do this:

1) Start > run
2) Type "cmd"
3) Type "ipconfig"

Post a picture.

Ok....my friends can't try to login at the moment to try it out though (this is stuff from yesterday night) so I guess I'll give it a try later.

While we're at it, I think I forgot to mention that the LAN game I'm trying to set up is via VPN, but since I'm not very sure if that's legal I figured I'd ask. If it isn't and Badspot already took care of that, I can see a reason why this thing isn't working. :P

Yeah - You can't play Blockland over a VPN - only a physical LAN network.

I see, thanks. Guess I'll just have them buy the game.  :cookieMonster:

If they all brought their computers to you house then it would work.
