Author Topic: Red cubes are spam.  (Read 1837 times)

"That piece of crap script" comes with Blockland by default and has been invaluable in keeping the Block Party servers clean. People just need to understand how it works in order to use it effectively.
I prefer banning and then clearing the bricks over that script.
Clear spam bricks?
Yes. Script_ClearSpam.

Lol, I love the way badspot told no one :)

It's kinda stupid, that means I will have to use some custom color to replace red to just use my 4x4 cubes red?
Or just put them on a baseplate.

:cookieMonster:

no, if he builds something veeery spammy which takes up 99/100 bricks of the server, the host/admin haves to delete one brick by one. with the baseplates, all the admin does is hit the base plate with d wand.
Admin Menu, clear bricks, solved.

let's say he got a non-spammy build. AM AMAZING BUILD.

Hint: Don't use that piece of crap script.
Why is it a peice of crap script?

It should probably check for down bricks too.
What kind of bricks could you find under a brick that's on the ground?

What's the first thing a newb does on your server, make a 1x1 red brick, and spawn an item.

Hell yeah that's annoying. And then spamming vehicle spawns? Worse

Here's what I think:
Sometimes, you can't find the spam people made. You clear it with /clearspambricks.
However, it won't affect you if you're not able to see it, because it's out of your view cutoff and won't be proccesed, so basically, it doesn't matter unless people are standing near it and are complaining to you. In this case, just destroy the baseplate. If there's no baseplate, you just clear all of that person's bricks.
Clearspambricks shouldn't clear red bricks. It's pretty stupid, because not only is red a primary, and important, color, but 1x1's can be used in various, useful ways, especially when red. In the case of being worried about someone coming into your server and placing a bunch of red 1x1's all over, you could just either ban them, or put a password on your server if you're such a paranoid weirdo.

It's not always just red that's cleared. It's just the first color in the colorset.
The reason is because some people just throw down a baseplate without worrying about color, toss it on the ground, and spawn an item on it.

Do realize this is only for red baseplates with NO BRICKS on them.

Color ID 0 isn't always red depending on the colorset but yeah, build it on an obscure color baseplate and hey presto!

Off topic: Ah! From now on i'm gonna use the English variants of color (colour)

build it on an obscure color baseplate and hey presto!

As soon as you said this, the baseplate wouldn't be killed no matter the color.

Well, at your first point, the first color should be the most important, no?
At the second point, I suppose that it's not that bad, then.
