Everyone keeps claiming it's true.
They didn't even come out and say "Zomg, it's the loving end of the world"
Maybe they got lazy and never finished it

I'm thinking 2012 isn't going to be any sort of disaster, I think people will go hysteric, thinking it's the end of the world. Looting, murder, rape, etc will all occur due to dumbasses thinking they're all going to die, so instead I'm going to barricade my home and defend it from mobs of drunk richardweeds ruining society.

It's not even the end of the Mayan calendar, it's just the restart of a very long cycle.

According to Wikipedia:
"Misinterpretation of the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar is the basis for a New Age belief that a cataclysm will take place on December 21, 2012. December 21, 2012 is simply the last day of the 13th b'ak'tun."
