Author Topic: Mysterious changes in computer memory  (Read 716 times)

I got on my laptop today to find that it mysteriously had about 800MB of free space left, and if I'm not mistaken, has been gradually losing free space each day for the past week or so.

Then, a few minutes ago, I checked again and it now has 8.37GB free.

...

I found out my computer does that to.

It happend right after i installed steam. :/

steam. :/

I never use Steam anymore, I should probably just get rid of it.

disk cleanup
And probably try that.... I don't know if I've ever defragmented or anything since I got this thing 11 months ago.

I'm pretty sure I got several gigabytes of space after defragmenting my hard drive once, that might be it. The free space on your hard drive can also change due to temporary files created by programs that are deleted every once in awhile.

Lol eksi, i remember how i would use that face.

Also. You did it wrong.

Do you have automatic backups set? I had 25 or so GB left on my second partition, only to see it at 600MB randomly one day. That ended up being the problem.
